I had an awesome video to share with you this week, but then it got trumped by an even more awesome video. I have always been indifferent to this band, but after seeing this amazing video and hearing this track from their upcoming album I am quickly realizing the error of my ways. If this video isn’t in my top 10 at the end of the year I will be really surprised:

The 2009 Line-Up for Austin City Limits Music Festival has been posted and it certainly does not disappoint. The festival is scheduled for October 2-4 with huge headliners as Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, The Decemberists, and Kings of Leon. I Hope Your Ears Bleed “approved” bands that will also be featured include, the music mash up master Girl Talk, Andrew Bird, Passion Pit, Bon Iver and The Avett Brothers. ACL festival has established itself as one of the premier festivals to attend; as well as the city of Austin securing its place as the “new” music capitol.
Leading up to this amazing festival stay tuned to I Hope Your Ears Bleed for an in-depth look into each band that will be featured this year as well as a pick list of bands to go see if you are fortunate to be in attendance this year.
If you would like to investigate yourself feel free to browse www.aclfestival.com which has bios, songs and videos posted showcasing each artist.
I hope some of these bands will make your ears bleed with anticipation.
Check out this new song off of the upcoming album by Passion Pit. The new album, Manners, is set to be released on May 19th. I just can’t get enough of this techno falsetto-y goodness.
Mind blowing goodness today here on the arrr-dubya.
One of my favorite songs of 2008 is Sleepyhead by Passion Pit. Well, my eyes have opened a little wider to find this wonderful reworking of the original by Emil&Friends.
It’s time to get to get out of bed, c’mon you sleepyhead, sleepyhead
I’m a sucker for things like that. Small little signature changes, kind of like the changes in the lyrics I talked about a few weeks ago in the diplo remix of I’m a Lady. This rework is a little easier on the ears than the falsetto of the original.
When Passion Pit’s version was the free single of the week, I saw a pretty funny review in iTunes.
I kind of agree, and this new rework does not sound like the hamster dance.
