RW: Kids (Soulwax Remix)

I know what you’re going to say, and before you do. Don’t.

I know it wasn’t Soulwax last week. It was “2 Many DJ’s”. But they are the same thing right? Well kinda? A signature I do with my left hand, and one from my right hand are both my signature right? Anyways, I feel bad, because I had some people getting pissed at me in the comments. But to get real for a sec, it’s one of the earliest Soulwax mash-up efforts (Beatles v. Kernkraft). It’s the strings, and then Kernkraft’s industrial beat.

So to show how much of a nice guy I truly am. I give you a 100% real Soulwax remix.

This remix hit the blogosphere this summer, and for a period of time I couldn’t put it down.

It’s contagious, and I hope you enjoy it.

Remix Wednesday: Electric Feel (Justice is AWESOME Remix)

Justice

A few weeks ago I talked about MashUps, and one in particular that grazed my ever so tasteful ears. Well I found one of the two main pieces used to create it, and it stands even better alone.

At first I thought it was 3 songs,

• MGMT – Electric Feel
• Justice – ?
• The Ramones – Teenage Lobotomy

But now I know it’s just two. Well here is the more exciting half.

MGMT – Electric Feel (Justice is AWESOME Remix) (removed 2/13/09)

This remix is so well done, that I would actually mistake it for a regular Justice song. It really could just blend in with other Justice songs like “DVNO” & “D.A.N.C.E.”. It’s a perfect example of why Justice is gonna be that big name in electronic music we’ll hear about for the next few years. This remix is awesome and I can’t stop listening to it.

ReMASH Wednesday: Teenage Electric Lobotomy

I’ve got quite the treat today. It’s a new kind of remix. I introduced Dub mixes a few weeks ago, and now I’d like to introduce Mash-Ups. What exactly is a mashup?

A mashup is a song or composition created from the combination of the music from one song and vocals from another. [wikipedia]

The easy way to remember it, is to think of it as a remix with more than one song.

Well, the main contributor, Nathan (my editor), emailed me about how everyone and their mum are doing remixes of MGMT (pronounced Management). Well I didn’t want to feel left out, but I also wanted to post something that no-one else is posting.

So here’s where the mashup came into play.
