RW: Cult Logic Forever

There’s a popular mashup sloshing it’s way around the good ol’ web right now combining the talents of indie-electronic rocker Miike Snow and rapper Drake.

Lemme map out what was changed here.

(Miike Snows‘s “Cult Logic” – Vocals) + (Drake‘s “Forever” – Music ) – Eminem =  The Hood Internet‘s “Cult Logic Forever“

Incase mathematic symbols cause your head to spin, I just said that the mashup is the base track of Cult Logic with the vocal part of Forever, minus the Eminem section.

If anything, I’m just going to treat this song as something that helped bring Miike Snow to my attention. I’m huge on electronic-pop and this guy delivers.

So I hope that you find something of worth on this fine remix day. I hope your ears are satiated. Ω

Neighbors Remix Phoenix’s “Rome”

Phoenix has this funny habit of being remixed into amazing compositions.

Here’s the real kicker; from the entire album of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, I’m pretty sure that “Rome” wasn’t even in my top ten before hearing this remix. The original just has some odd quirks to it that I just can’t get past. But this version, while scrubbing practically all the lyrics, sets a scene perfect for relaxing.

It’s worth a listen, no matter what you think of the original. And if you’re not sure of the original, then check out the refresher course below.

This remix is a prime example of an okay song being made into a great song, and the kinda thing I live for in this industry.

RW: DJ (Benny Benassi Remix)

So I’ve mentioned it before.. and I’ll mention it again.

My favorite Bowie hook, is “I am a DJ, I am what I play.”

I love it. I live it.

Well as luck would have it, Benny Benassi in his infinite wisdom has remixed the song of my musical mantra’s origin.

It lacks nearly everything the original once had, but the hook is still there… and it still pulls me in.

RW: Blood Bank (Skinny Friedman Remix)

I say Bon Iver, and the first word that comes into your head is… remix? Well it should be, because this is the remix of week!

Now I gotta say that I hate flashy remixes as much as the next guy, but you have nothing to fear when it comes to this classy styling of Bon Iver’s sweet sweet Blood Bank.

The new set of drum beats backing the song will make the original feel lacking, and incomplete. So please, Listen At Your Own Risk.
