Glen Hansard and Lisa Hannigan Cover The Band

Glen Hansard and current tour mate Lisa Hannigan stopped by Chicago’s Architectural Artifacts Inc. to play a cover of The Band’s classic song “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” for the A.V. Club as a part of their Undercover: Summer Break series.  I absolutely love this rendition of this phenomenal song. I hope that Hansard takes the time to record this song someday.  I couldn’t stop listening to it when I stumbled upon it last week. I just love all three of those voices and the passion with which they sing. The other guy joining them and singing the second verse is John Smith, a folk artist that has been playing with Hannigan on this current tour.
