Earlier this week, The Avett Brothers announced that they will be releasing their 6th studio album via Universal Records. The new album will be titled The Carpenter and will be released on the 11th of September. The second song on the album is called “Live and Die” and they have made it available for you to listen to on either NPR or their own Soundcloud page. It starts out with their classic banjo-laden folk sound and ends with more of a country feel than we’re used to hearing from them, and I love it. “Live and Die” will be available for download on July 3rd. Here’s to hoping the Avetts return to their rough and unpolished ways.
Band of Horses released one of my favorite albums of 2010 with the melodic Infinite Arms. They have just announced that the follow-up to that incredible record will be released in September. As of now, that is about all the details they have given. Other than this preview of a new song called that I am assuming will be on the yet untitled new album. The new song is called “Dumpster World” and you can listen to it below. The little bit they gives me the feeling they are yet another band that has been listening to a lot of Neil Young while writing their latest album. I just seem to be hearing Young’s influence in a lot of records that are coming this year so far. Not sure if I’m right on that one, but either way I am pretty excited for the new album.
Our favorite indie dance-rock group has a new album coming out later this year and I’ve got some details as well as a couple tracks to listen to. The album is titled Gossamer, and will be released on Columbia Records at the end of next month (July 24). Below you can find the tracklist for the record as well as the first two tracks from the album for your listening pleasure. Both tracks, as well as this great album art have got me even more excited for what was already a highly anticipated release.

It’s been almost four years since we’ve heard anything new from The Killers. And as much as I loved their first two albums, I am having a hard time getting excited for their new album. While I found tracks on each that I enjoyed, I was pretty disappointed with both Day & Age andFlamingo (frontman Brandon Flowers’ recent solo effort). Yet here I am, taking the time to share with you the details of their upcoming fourth studio album, “Battle Born.” Commenting about the title for the new album (which is also an informal name for the band’s home state of Nevada), Flowers said that “in a sense, all Americans are battle born. Our ancestors came here for something better.”
Below you can watch some live footage of a new song as well as the completely unrevealing trailer for the new album.
