La Otrabanda

After I featured their video as the “music video of the week” they were gracious enough to contact me and thank me, and they offered to let me have a preview listen to their album Pueblo vivo/ Vibrant People. Not having heard a lot a lot of music from Venezuela, their home country, I was not sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by an eclectic sound featuring myriad of instruments (including bagpipes in the song “Pasaje“), and several rhythms I don’t often hear in America. Definitely worth a listen.
