RW: The Reeling (Calvin Harris Remix)

I’m a big fan of the work of Calvin Harris. I’m also a follower of Passion Pit. Put them together, and I’m going to have something that definitely peaks my interests.

The remix retains a lot of the feel of the original, basically retaining the same overall structure and order. About thirty seconds in, a bass line that just screams Calvin Harris reminds me why I wanted to listen to this. The song runs at a much softer, more low-key, tone that the original.

All in all, this is a different view on the original, that if you like Passion Pit, or Calvin Harris is sure to brighten you wednesday a little more.

    good stuff. it’s hard to go wrong when you’re working with a song like “the reeling.” as long as you keep that freewheeling fun intact and don’t try to turn it into some tuneless, dark, droning thing it’ll probably remain awesome. i agree this version is more restrained and understated than the original, which is classy. i do love the unbridled, explosive energy of the original, too
