When it comes to the music of Tim Kasher, I am usually more inclined to listen to his albums created with The Good Life. I have often found his Cursive albums to be a little too chaotic and too intense for my liking. And being a lover of folk music, I have just always enjoyed that he had this outlet for exploring his softer ideas and more personal convictions. But I think I am finally coming around to the music of Cursive. I am falling in love with the first single off of their new album, Mama, I’m Swollen, which hits stores a week from today. “From the Hips” is a a stellar track, and it is the intensity found in his powerful vocals, and the slightly chaotic drumming that help drive this addictive song. If this song is indicative of the whole album, I think we are going to be in for a real treat. Although if you are smart, you won’t wait til next week to find out. Saddle Creek is offering the album as a digital download for a discounted price this week. On Mondy they put the album up for only $1 and will be increasing the price by a dollar each day until it reaches its regular price of $9. So that means that today you can get the album for just $3. So don’t delay, hurry up and take advantage of this great deal.

The Good Life – You Don’t Feel Like Home to Me

Really?
I love the good life and cursive.
But this album is a combination of lazy songwriting, lack of direction, and dull guitar lines.
the good life has always been my favorite. I like cursive as well. this album is growing on me but still it does not compare with burst and bloom.
This album is great. It takes time to love. There is no “lazy songwriting” or “lack of direction” on this album. I was reading the digital pamphlet with lyrics(kinda) and i was able to better grasp the direction of the album. Tim Kasher’s lyrics are as great as ever. Listen to it 3 or 4 more times and you’ll love it(if you like their old albums). Its a much better album than Happy Hollow, so give it a good listen.
